Apple Crisp

This is a great apple crisp recipe that I got from my sister several years ago.

Apple Crisp

Ingredients

10-12 Apples, (or enough to fill the bottom of a 9x 13 pan) peeled, cored and sliced or 1 quart Apple Pie Filling
1 dash of cinnamon
1/4 c. water

Topping
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oats
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup butter, softened

2nd topping
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter, softened

Instructions

Place apples in a 9x13 or 8x11 baking dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and add the water.   Before adding the topping, place the apples in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 -15 minutes to soften them a little.

In a small mixing bowl add the brown sugar, flour, oats, and cinnamon, mix well.

Mix in the butter.

I used 2 quarts of Apple Pie Filling here
Sprinkle the topping over the apples.
In a mixing bowl combine ingredients for the second topping:
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup of butter
Cut in the butter with a fork or pastry blender.

Sprinkle the second topping over the first topping.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until apples are soft and topping is a light golden brown.
